Resolving strabismus through craniomandibular manipulation
Cranio 1990 Jul;8(3):279-285
Cranial manipulation can be used as a treatment adjunct in
resolving ocular dysfunctions. In this case study the pathophysiology of
etiologies of the strabismus was narrowed down to various muscles dysfunctions
which included most commonly a hypertonic medial rectus muscle. Cranial
manipulation was employed in this case to return the cranium to its anatomical
and physiologic normal. The results of the manipulation resulted in improvement
of the child's vision and eye deviation. These improvements were also noted by
the patient’s ophthalmologist.
